UnTubular – 2012

This month was filled with everything from eastern european goth girls with halos, a Norwegian guy dressed as an angel with a halo, to those wholesome moments on BumpMap we know and love. It’s honestly been a great month for the server and we got so many new amazing members and we couldn’t be more excited for the future! Welcome everyone!

Most people kind of know the format by now, but if you’re new, this is a monthly post where we recap the past month and highlight some fun memories and happenings. We do this to create a bit of fun discussion but also to keep members that haven’t been super active updated on what’s going on in a condensed format!

First up, Eurovision!

After a week of two great semifinals and having lots of fun voting, the final was upon us. We tried to convince a few people that were anti-eurovision to begin with, that this was the shit. I feel like we got through to them. As a result one of the most active voice chats in BumpMap history was held, and Måneskin from Italy emerged victorious!

 

We also want to highlight the winner of the BumpMap vote! Go_A. The techno-goth, halo-loving band from Ukraine! They won the hearts and votes of BumpMap and was the only song to beat out Italy in our internal voting. That’s a very big feat. Some of us maniacally listened to Go_A’s song around 50 times in one day!

Minecraft – Modded (Valhelsia 3)

 

What started as a skyblock run lead to the creation of a steroid injected modded Minecraft playthough with technology, astral magic, druid magic and a crap ton of more things. The server is up everyday so join in!

 

Garry’s Mod

 

Garry’s Mod was pretty dominant this month as well. TTT is a gamemode that is super easy to start up and always have fun in while not requiring a ton of effort to set up. Will it remain on the list three months in a row? We will find out next month!

 

Tower Unite

 

I wrote last month that this game could become a sort of digital hangout spot for us here at BumpMap. I still think this can become reality when more people can play the game. We’ve had a lot of fun with it and it’s a big recommendation from me personally!

 

Titan Quest

 

The 6 hath become 5. The run is still active and we’ve progressed quite a bit further than the last time I posted about it but we have lost one brave soul on the journey. We will now fend off the evils of ancient Greece as a party of five in the future!

 

That’s the games for this month!

I have been indulging myself in Returnal, Spider-Man: Miles Morales and speedrunning some Sackboy: a Big Adventure. It’s always super interesting to hear what you are playing so do share that on the server as well!

This month we decided (on behalf of Nuke) to band together for an awesome moving in present for Merg! I am happy to say this effort was a massive success and BumpMap managed to contribute 400 GBP = 465 EUR = 566 USD as a gift to buy furniture and other necessities for the move. Thank you all for joining in and contributing, that goes out to everyone that didn’t contribute money as well. you are all part of BumpMap and it doesn’t matter who gave money, this was a gift from us all!

Here comes the juicy statistics of May! I do recommend comparing them to the last post yourself to see just how crazy the increase in activity has been during May.

 

Messages

We sent 12792 messages in total during May. That’s a 93,5% increase compared to last period!

That is an average of 412 messages per day

The five most active people in the text channels were:

2. Jaye with 1565 messages
3. Fish with 1208 messages
4. Merg with 1193 messages
5. Nuke with 698 messages

That is roughly 59% of all messages sent during the month.

The most active text channel was #general-chat with 4335 messages sent. That’s more than double the number of last month!

 

Voice Activity

During May we spent a total of 78565 minutes in voice chat.

That is equal to 1309 hours. We spent almost two months in VC this month together!

The five most active people in the voice chat channels were:

 

1. Dagge with 10572 minutes = 176 hours in total
2. UnTubular with 10185 minutes = 170 hours in total
3. Merg with 9932 minutes = 165,5 hours in total
4. Natt Vakt with 9930 minutes = 165,5 hours in total

That is roughly 61% of the servers total time spent in voice chat this month. That is slightly lower than last month’s 64% which means the activity was more diverse in May!

Last words

I know these last months have been very rough on a lot of us. I really hope that with brighter days comes happier times and that we’ll all finally be able to meet up like we’ve planned for a long time in the near-ish future.
